Fine Art photographs are images that are created to show the artistic vision of the photographer. It is easier to describe what they are not rather than what they are. Fine Art photographs are not photojournalism which is a record of events. It is not commercial photography which is designed to sell a product or service. It is not photographic illustrations in the form of portraits made for a client. Yet it can be all of those things and more, it tells a story, it takes the subject to another, different or higher plane, It draws you in to see more, it is a work of art which shows the photographer’s vision and intrigues the viewer or takes them to another place or memory.

Sometimes it is discovered by accident other times by intent. Fine Art photography is a very gray area in which each of us determines what it is we like – art really is in the eye of the beholder.
